Longfield School

Long Field School, located in Melton Mowbray, is justly proud of its reputation for high quality learning and teaching and for its orderly, well behaved, articulate students.
The caring, challenging and varied environment we have created has encouraged our students to reach and sustain high levels of achievement which are reflected in our results and teacher assessments.
The year 9 German class at Longfield School Melton have worked on a project to introduce Melton Mowbray.
The class initially went into town and carried out a survey asking passers-by what they thought about various aspects of Melton. Back in school they compiled the information and then translated their findings into German. They also collected further information, comments and pictures. Pupils worked in groups of two or three of an aspect of the project.
Over the past five weeks they worked really hard (I visited them for one lesson per week to support and view the progress) and on Friday 8 July each group gave a presentation showing their work and explaining in English (as there were a few visitors who do not speak German) in detail what they have researched. The Melton Times took some photos and reported on this project.
All presentations were impressive and pupils of the top three groups received vouchers.
Coming soon are a range of links to download presentations created by some of our talent students themselves, all about Melton life!
